Fitting a top wood to your guitar

Gluing a grained patterned top wood to a guitar top can be tricky when you have a top wood with a complicated grain. The pick ups and control plates make getting the best of the grain features difficult. However, if you take a photo of the guitar and one of the top wood and make the guitar photo transparent you can transpose top wood on to the guitar in power point and move the top wood around to get the best fit i.e show the grain. Just a tip

  1. Top wood aligned along the neck of the guitar.

2.  Top wood aligned along the neck of the low end of the body

3.   Top wood turned 180 degrees.

Gives a good Idea of were the grain pattern will end up on the guitar top
